Historie

The production of glass laminates in Kovon Karviná was started in 1953, as one of the first factories in the whole of Eastern and Central Europe. Initially, it was engaged in special military production (e.g. additional tanks for jet aircraft), or the production of high-strength helmets for motorcyclists or miners. The production of the first composite car parts, whether for racing specials or series vehicles and parts for caravans, is also documented. In 1970, winding equipment was purchased for the precise winding of laminate pipes up to a diameter of 3600 mm. This technology enabled the production of various laminate pipes and large-volume tanks, but especially the start of an ecological program for the production of equipment for wastewater treatment plants from small sources of pollution. In the 1990s, a program of laminate products for power plants and the chemical industry was launched.
